Summer of Discovery is a summer experience designed to provide a fun-filled exploratory opportunity for individuals with Down syndrome and their siblings. From bugs, to horses, to movies, participants will learn about their world, make new friends and have FUN! SOD is coordinated and monitored by paid, experienced staff. Participants are dropped off and picked up at the DSSW office at 9415 E. Harry, Ste. 405. Transportation to offsite locations will be available. 

  • June 29th - Friday - 5:30-6:30pm - Family orientation
  • Week of July 2nd - Monday and Tuesday - 8-noon (2 days due to holiday)
  • Weeks of July 9th, 16th, 23rd and 30th - Monday through Wednesday - 8-noon
  • Participants can be dropped off as early as 7:45am and picked up by 12:15pm
  •   Individuals with Down syndrome age 5 and up, and siblings up to age 18.
  •   Must be potty-trained or require minimal assistance with restroom.
  •   Must be willing to participate in physical activity with minimal assistance.
  •   Max program capacity - 30
  •   Cost: $30/week. Each additional residential child/adult is $20.
